There has been a significant advancement in the study of the genes that contribute to lupus and this information is expanding our knowledge of the origins of the disease as well as providing clues on ways physicians might be able to treat the disease in the future. Dr. John Harley, Director of Rheumatology at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital presents an overview of the genes that investigators have identified as having possible involvement in the underlying cause of lupus.
